The unique and dramatic sea and beach views from this well furnished two-bedroom apartment will take your breath away. Its panoramic south-facing balcony, literally a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean, is right on the un-commercialised El Playazo beach, the longest beach in Nerja, and adjoining the beautiful Torrecilla beach.

The apartment is situated on the ground floor of a small private development of only twelve apartments, within five minutes of the main shopping area of Nerja and between the 4-star Hotel Perla Marina next door, and the 4-star Riu Monica Hotel round the corner. The vicinity of the apartment is quiet and free from traffic noise, yet Nerja’s amenities and 4 supermarkets are within 2 -5 minutes’ walk. Or stroll along the Torrecilla beach’s superb promenade fringed with palm trees to Nerja’s shops and restaurants. The famous palm-fringed Balcon de Europa with its spectacular sea and mountain panorama, including Morocco on a clear day, is only ten minutes’ stroll from the apartment through the charming old town.

The spacious and comfortable accommodation sleeps 6, and comprises:

· Entrance hall

· Large lounge with dining area, satellite TV including the 5 UK channels, video player, DVD, hifi (CD, cassette and radio)

· Good size beachfront balcony (fitted with double-glazed concertina doors which transform it to a sunroom / conservatory) running the full width of the apartment, and accessed from the kitchen as well as the lounge, with table and chairs plus sun-loungers

· Fully fitted kitchen with built-in oven and hob, large fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and filter coffee machine

· Double and twin bedooms with extra single kangaroo beds which pull out from underneath the two single beds, plus folding bed

· New bathroom including vanity unit, shower over the bath, washing machine, heated towel rail and hairdryer

· Full use of a large swimming pool (open from Easter to November) two minutes’ beachfront stroll from the apartment, and set in lush private tropical gardens right on the Torrecilla beach

· Plenty of family activities in the area, including two beach play areas five minutes’ walk away.

Parking is available on the quiet street outside the apartment, though shops, restaurants, Spanish ‘tapas’ bars and all amenities are so close that it is not really necessary to hire a car unless you want to travel outside Nerja. There is a shopping trolley in the apartment to make supermarket shopping easy on foot.

Described by Which? Holiday magazine as the best coastal holiday destination in Spain, the pretty fishing village of Nerja (from the Moorish word ‘naricha’ meaning ‘rich in water’) has retained its traditional Andalucian character of narrow winding streets, white-washed houses and red tiled roofs, unspoilt by high rise development. Protected and sheltered by the surrounding horseshoe-shape Sierra Almijara mountains, it enjoys a sub-tropical micro-climate, claiming the best all-year round weather in Europe. Nerja has a relaxed atmosphere with a more informal feel than the neon and glitz of its counterparts to the west of Malaga.

Characterised by steep cliffs and nine clean sandy beaches all with Blue Flag awards (by far the busiest being Burriana), it offers water-skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, pedalos, windsurfing and fishing, as well as paragliding, walking, cycling, horse-riding, tennis and go-karting (20 kms away). Enjoy safe sea bathing (water temperatures vary only from 18ºC in winter to 24ºC in summer), or 2 aqua parks 15 kms away. For golfers the Baviera Golf Club is 15 kms away at Velez Malaga, and the Añoreta Golf Club is 30 kms away at Rincon re la Victoria.

Nerja is also a perfect base to explore the authentic Andalucia, steeped in Spanish and Moorish history and culture. Visit the Alhambra at Granada * (the finest remaining Moorish Palace in the world); Cordoba (once the premier city of the Western world where Europe’s first medieval university was founded); Seville; the gorge at Ronda; Gibraltar; Tarifa for world-class windsurfing or a 30-minute hydrofoil trip to Morocco; lovely 'pueblos blancos' (white villages) such as Frigiliana; the prehistoric caves at Nerja, the second biggest in Europe; further wonderful beaches heading east along the coast to Mojacar and the Almerian coast; or enjoy superb mountain scenery in the nearby Alpujarras mountains – all are within travelling distance for a perfect day's sightseeing. Or you can even ski in the Sierra Nevada from December to April.

·Rental start and finish dates are normally Saturday to Saturday in season, with more flexibility in the winter. The minimum stay is usually 7 days, though sometimes we offer a special price where we can offer a stay of less than a week.

Prices include taxes, electricity, water, bed linen and towels, as well as pre-cleaning (plus mid-clean(s) and change of bed linen and towels for guests staying more than a week). Please bring your own beach towels.
A 30% deposit is needed on booking, with the balance due 6 weeks before departure. Both are non-refundable and are payable by cheque or bank transfer. Payee, payee address and phone number will be provided at deposit stage. A receipt will be sent as soon as any money is received. On payment of the balance: apartment address, directions from the airport plus assistance with car hire or airport taxi, keysafe location and pin number, street map & key, and useful local phone numbers will be provided three weeks before departure.

An iron and ironing board are provided, as well as two electric fan heaters and a fan. Also available are cot hire at £15 per week and highchair hire at £10 per week.
